Ed Sheeran released "Autumn Variations" last week independently, on his Gingerbread Man label.
He says it's the first time he's never released a video or single for an album.
Quote, "I've had 12, 13 years of the, being a pop star, and having the pressure of 'it has to sell this week one', 'you have to have this hit single', 'you have to have this.' And part of me goes, 'Why?'" He says everything has to be bigger and better when working with a major label. So going independent takes the pressure off. Quote, "You have to be like, 'I don't care what people think.'" To celebrate the album's release, he visited with fans in random bars throughout New York City.
